Compare cabinet quotes on the same scope

A cabinet-only quote will usually look lower than a quote that accounts for the pieces needed to finish the room. Before comparing totals, confirm that each quote includes, excludes or identifies the same work.

Cabinet quote checklist

  1. Cabinet construction and assembly: Compare box construction, door and drawer materials, factory assembly and the exact cabinet line.
  2. Hinges and drawer slides: Confirm the manufacturer, soft-close features and whether the hardware is included with the cabinets.
  3. Knobs and pulls: Decorative hardware should be included, excluded or clearly left for the homeowner or contractor to purchase.
  4. Fillers and finished surfaces: Check fillers, scribes, finished end panels, island backs and exposed cabinet sides.
  5. Moulding and toe kicks: Check crown, light rail, base moulding and finished toe-kick material.
  6. Interior accessories and touch-up: Check roll-outs, trash pull-outs, dividers, organizers, under-cabinet lighting and matching touch-up material.
  7. Built-in modifications: Confirm panels, appliance surrounds, furniture details and custom changes that make a built-in look complete.
  8. Freight, tax and field work: Compare freight, delivery conditions, tax, field measurement, countertop work and installation responsibility.

The lowest total is meaningful only after those items match. A clear quote can still exclude something, but the exclusion should be visible before the order.

Revisions should be easy

Tell Harbour Millwork what changed. The cabinet plan and its connected fillers, panels, moulding, hardware and built-in details are revised together. You do not need to start the intake again, and the next quote can be compared with the prior scope.

What is included in a Fabuwood cabinet

Fabuwood states that its cabinets use U.S. and globally sourced components and are assembled in the United States. The cabinet boxes arrive fully assembled and ready for contractor installation rather than as a flat-pack product.

Fabuwood cabinets ship with Blum soft-close hinges, slides and lift systems. Blum is an Austrian fittings manufacturer.

For eligible custom-color selections, Fabuwood can use any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams color. That opens hundreds of choices beyond the standard Fabuwood finish collection.
